The Lone Palm Vineyard Selection is the pinnacle wine of the collection - our icon Shiraz.

A selection of the best barrels from all the vineyards we harvest fruit from on the Western Ridge of the Barossa Valley. Hand picked Shiraz from vineyards in Marananga, Greenock, Stone Well & Seppeltsfield all separately traditionally fermented in open fermenters. Some have up to 10-15% whole bunches and the rest whole berries, fermented for 10-12 days then basket pressed to French and USA oak hogsheads. Natural MLF in barrel, where it remains for 20 months before the best barrels are selected and blended together in tank. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered so is Vegan friendly.

Made only in exceptional vintages, selected from a handful of the best barrels.

Three bottle limit per purchase.

97+ points Kim Brebach - It’s as closed as a bank vault at this time, but there’s clearly a lot going on inside: rich red and blue berry fruits polished with fine French oak to start with. After a couple of days in the opened bottle, there are hints of leather, licorice, chocolate and coffee on a backbone of fine-grained tannin, long, smooth and tight. Built for future glory; needs a few years to open up, and then a few more to reach its full potential.

97 points Wine Orbit - Powerful and captivating, the wine exhibits black and blueberry, anise, fennel, cedar, and dark chocolate notes on the nose. The concentrated palate offers outstanding weight and multi-layered mouthfeel, superbly enhanced by velvety texture and plush tannins. Immensely appealing with magnificent complexity. At its best: 2026 to 2043.

96 points Winepilot Ken Gargett - This is the icon of the range from this team – I had not realised that when tasting but there is no doubt it stood out as very special. That was immediately evident. The fruit comes from Marananga, Stonewell, Greenock and Seppeltsfield – Barossa names don’t come much bigger! A portion of whole bunches are included and the wine spends twenty months in a mix of French and American hogsheads. The final wine is a barrel selection. A dark maroon hue here, the nose exhibits notes of chocolate, blackcurrants, bay leaves, smoked meats, plums, cloves, mocha and mulberries. There is still plenty of evidence of toasty oak, with integration well underway. A wine which treads the tightrope between power and refinement and does it majestically. After time in the glass, we also see the emergence of rose petals and cassis. This is really good stuff. There are signs of early complexity, which one can reasonably expect to grow over time. Seamless, supple and seductive, there are silky tannins and serious length. Superb. It is the extra refinement which sets it apart. Ten to fifteen years of pleasure ahead of it.

94+ points Wine Advocate - The 2023 Selection Shiraz is granular and intense, with mulberry, cocoa, game, bone marrow and autumn leaves. The texture is dry and dusty, and it permeates through every aspect of the fruit in the mouth. There is abundant oak here, but it works in concert with the concentrated fruit; and the oak and fruit conspire together to present a wine that feels distinctly "Barossan." This will only improve given time.

  • A hedonistic wine in every sense. Deep dark purple; potent and powerful with small dark fruits and splashes of licorice on the bouquet that lead into beautifully balanced fine French oak aromas. A totally seductive palate with dark black and blueberry fruit flavours, hints of dark chocolate with spice and juiciness. Perfectly soft mouthcoating and powdery tannins in balance for the long lingering finish.

  • Hand harvested from the best old Shiraz vines that are found on the Western Ridge of the Barossa Valley.
